Improving Air Quality in Car Parks to AS/NZ1668.2

Problem
Mechanical and natural ventilation systems must comply to requirements presented in AS/NZ1668.2 “The use of ventilation and air conditioning in buildings” but costs associated with building physical models are prohibitive.

Solution
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies of car parks with mechanical or natural ventilation can be performed to ensure compliance with AS/NZ1668.2. We are able to develop 3D geometry of the car park from drawings or 3D CAD data and determine CO concentration levels. AS/NZ1668.2 provides specific information about the CO load and limits on CO concentration.

Result
CFD modelling provides a cost-effective method to ensure that ventilation systems will perform as required and that public and worker health obligations are met.
